Privacy notice
This notice explains what information this website and I collect, why, how long I keep it, and how you can ask me to change or delete it. I have written it in plain language.

I am Toby Dobson, and I teach online as Teacher Toby. I am responsible for the information described here.

What this website collects
The website has no forms and no accounts. It does not ask for your name, email or phone number.
It counts visits with GoatCounter, a counting service that does not use cookies. It records which page was opened, the site that linked to it, the campaign name in the link, the country and the type of device. It does not record who you are.
If you use the language switch, the website stores one small cookie that remembers your choice for one year. It does nothing else.
The website is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, its servers receive the technical details of each request, such as your IP address, in order to deliver the page. The fonts and images come from this website, so your browser does not contact Google or any other font service.
When you message me on Zalo
Zalo is run by VNG, under its own privacy policy. When you message me there, I keep only what I need to teach:
- your name and your Zalo contact
- the student’s first name, age or level, and school or workplace
- the student’s goals, and the written feedback I send after each lesson
- records of payments
Why I use it
To answer your message, arrange and teach lessons, send written feedback, and arrange payment. I do not sell your information, and I do not use it for advertising.
How long I keep it
- If you message me but do not start lessons: 6 months after your last message, then I delete it.
- If lessons start: while they continue, and for 12 months after the last lesson, then I delete it. You keep your own copy of every feedback message in Zalo.
- Payment records: for as long as the tax rules where I live require.
- At any time, if you ask me to delete your information, I will, except for records the law requires me to keep.
Children
When a student is a child, I arrange lessons with a parent or guardian, and only with their consent. I never take photos or recordings of a child without a parent’s written consent.
Information outside Vietnam
I may teach, and keep my records, from outside Vietnam. The website’s host and the counting service may store their data outside Vietnam too.
Your rights
You can ask me to show you the information I keep, to correct it or to delete it, and you can withdraw your consent at any time. Send me a message, and I will reply personally.
Changes to this notice
If this notice changes, I will update the date and version at the top of this page.
